Etna is the largest active volcano, which currently stands at 3,326 with 10, 910fthigh. I have almost reached the summit in October last year while training withKilimanjaro Challenge III teams, but some things went wrong, so I’m back to give itanother try with my close friends Etienne Vella and Benji PULLICINO. Wespontaneously decided we would try it 2 days before departure date; Etna covers an area of ??1190 km squared with a basal circumference of 140 km .. and is (unfortunately) one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Because of its historyof recent activity and nearby population, Mount Etna has been designated a decadeVolcano by the United Nations …. Not that people are interested in trekking Etna:That said, though it sometimes can be very destructive, it is not generally regarded as particularly dangerous. At present the weather on the summit is-11C. This time I take a GPS unit and a list of emergency phone numbers!
