27th December 2006 around 19 participants including myself will leave Malta to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, the world's tallest free-standing massif, and one of the world's largest volcanoes. This snow-capped dormant volcano, towering almost 6km above Tanzania's savannah, is known as the 'roof of Africa'.

The Kilimanjaro Challenge 3. This year’s group will see participants collecting funds for Amy Zahra,  was admitted to hospital suffering from bacterial meningitis. This led to amputations to her fingers and to both her limbs from below her knees. A percentage or the proceeds will also go to a school in
Ethiopia
